🌌Cheers To Science | An Exotic 70 Millions of Years-Old Safar🌿

„Exploring the European Dinosaur Islands of the Late Cretaceous”

We invite you to join us on the 24th of February to explore science in an informal atmosphere with Zoltán Csiki-Sava, professor at the Faculty of Geology and Geophysics, University of Bucharest, who will take us on a journey into the lost island worlds of prehistoric Europe.

🦎 What if Europe was once not a continent… but a tropical archipelago ruled by dwarf dinosaurs and giant flying reptiles?
🏝️ Could an isolated island reshape evolution itself — and create creatures found nowhere else on Earth?

The French Embassy in Romania and the Institut français de Roumanie are delighted to present a new episode of the „Cheers to Science” series, alongside the Austrian Cultural Forum, the Embassy of Greece in Bucharest, the German Embassy in Romania and the Wallonia-Brussels Delegation.

✨ No scientific background required — just curiosity and the spirit for a great evening out!
🗣️ Event held in English
🎟️ Free entry
🍷 Drinks & food are self-paid, by individual order.
📍 HARE Garden, Blv. Mareșal Constantin Prezan 1, Bucharest

In his talk, Dr. Zoltán Csiki-Sava will take the audience on a journey to the prehistoric Hațeg Island, a unique ecosystem that existed millions of years ago in what is now Romania. Through this fascinating island world, the talk will show how isolation can shape evolution and produce creatures unlike those found anywhere else on Earth.

He will present the remarkable animals that lived there – from dwarf dinosaurs and unusual giants to strange and unexpected species such as giant flying reptiles, herbivorous crocodiles, large lizards, and distinctive early mammals.

✨🥂✨ Join us for an evening of discovery, discussion and relaxed moments!
