Sri Lankans are building a vibrant underground music scene in Bucharest. With at least a couple of events happening every month across different venues, they’re creating a new nightlife culture that most locals aren’t even aware of.

Asked what motivates him to dedicate his scarce free time between delivery shifts to organizing parties for hundreds of Sri Lankans, one of the organizers explains:
“Romanians don’t want us in their places. I’ve been told to leave clubs because I am unwanted there. So, we understood we needed our own spaces.”

But this event is more than just a night of dancing to progressive house rhythms crafted on a South Asian island. It’s a call to break down the invisible walls between us—the locals—and them—those arriving each year by the tens of thousands, determined to build a future in Romania.

It’s a chance to share the same dance floor, to connect, and to learn from one another. Because in the end, dance has no borders, and the mirror neurons, the ones that make us absorb and mirror each other’s movements, don’t care about skin color.

Miruna Boruzescu is a multi-disciplinary artist, born in Bucharest. With a musical upbringing and fascinated by raw electronic sounds, Miruna combined both universes in her musical composition and production under the alias Borusiade.

The Romanian producer and DJ has a track record of genre-bending releases on tastemaking outlets like Cómeme, Pinkman, Cititrax, and Dark Entries.

Seara va fi curatoriată de Adi Schiop și Crina Mureșanu, recunoscuți pentru expertiza lor în acest gen muzical.

Te așteptăm la Manasia Hub, vineri, 28 martie, începând cu ora 22:00, pentru o nouă seară de „Manele with Pride” cu ***𝗗𝗝 𝗠𝗶𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗶 ș𝗶 𝗗𝗝 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗥𝗶𝗲𝘂***

*”𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐞”* este o petrecere manifest fiind singura petrecere de manele la care muzica este mixată de persoane de etnie romă, artiști care transformă fiecare set într-un act politic. Cei 2 DJx folosesc muzica pentru a celebra cultura romă, pentru a demonta stereotipurile și pentru a lupta împotriva rasismului.

Această petrecere nu este doar despre muzică – este despre diversitate, rezistență și celebrarea culturii rome!

𝐃𝐉 𝐌𝐢𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐢 este actr​iță, activist​ă feminist​ă, persoană rom​ă, queer, neurodivergentă, nonbinară în gen, gândire și exprimare, într-o continuă transformare și căutare de vibe-uri mișto.
𝐃𝐉​ Andrei cel Rieu este activist feminist rom – unul dintre cei mai exclusiviști dj de manele. Și-a început început cariera în 2017 la 𝐌𝐀𝐂𝐀𝐙 -𝐁𝐚𝐫 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐮 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐩 ca manifest împotriva gadjii​lor (neromi) care pun manele și astfel capitalizează munca romilor. Cel mai mult îi place să-și bea apa minerală cu tovx pe ritmuri de manele.
