As a well-admired figure in the worldwide underground scene, Raphael Carrau has been a quiet force in the process of shaping the current specialized electronic music community. As a former resident of Cartulis Music, with over a decade of experience with the London-born & based collective, he has honed a distinct ability to shape dance floors with precise forward-thinking selections blending deep, kinetic rhythms with a sharp futuristic edge.

His sound is a hypnotic fusion of depth and intensity, and undoubtedly possesses a natural ability to grace the most cutting edge parties and festivals, captivating those who seek something beyond the ordinary.

Having been brought up between Uruguay and Brazil, yet truly forged in London’s relentless scene, Rapha is now based in Lisbon where he continues to expand his influence and channel his vision into his own imprints: Dance Floor Rituals and Element Of Impact.

Flipside brings the heat with its second outdoor iteriation of their Summer programme at Platforma Wolff.

Their main guest this time around, an absolute and incontestable legend of the Italian house scene, Francesco Farfa.

Born in Florence, Francesco Casaburi’s first appearances as a DJ took place at the start of the 1980s. Enemy of clichés and labels, he concocted a varied and delectable mix, which included both funk and the first electronic rhythms heard before the arrival of house.

In recent times, the Italian DJ has found himself re-energized, back in love with electronic music, right at the sharp end of the underground scene. A true digger and sound obsessive, Farfa comes armed with decades of experience and musical appreciation, but now also with a fresh perspective that means he is once again doing what he does best: turning musical emotions and compelling rhythms into dance floor art.

The Florence born DJ first started laying down vital sets of funk, disco and proto-house. His deck skills and rare knack for selection and sequencing meant he soon became one of Italy’s most famous DJ exports, with his unique skills earning him sets at some of the most prestigious night venues and festivals across the world, from Space and Amnesia in Ibiza to Love Parade in Berlin, from Tenax in Floence to the deepest underground afterparties of New York City.

Farfa’s music has been called everything from psychedelic techno to cyber-trance, but it is impossible to truly define, with Farfa instead going in whatever direction his heart takes him. Hugely respected in his native country, Farfa has influenced a whole host of Italian DJs (and not only).

Francesco Farfa is now where he belongs: deep in the underground, playing challenging and unpredictable sets of slick and sleek house, techno and minimal.

Off The Grid, the exceptionally good vinyl distributor, independent label & shop based in Berlin celebrates 10 years in the best of ways.

A cosistent wave of shows starting from March 2025 featuring a combo of regular collaborations, guests and locations, as well as introducing new ones. Looking into the past, present and future, trying to keep it personal and meaningful.

For their Bucharest leg of the tour they have chosen the intimacy of Platforma Wolff with Onirik hostng on behalf of Off The Grid, joined by low-key, massively experienced DJ & producer XDB. All night long.

XDB is Kosta Athanassiadis a German DJ and producer by birth and in residence, with Greek parentage.

He began DJing in 1993 in Göttingen where he subsequently worked in a record shop, started producing tracks, ran a radio show for five years, and established the Metrolux record label in 2006.
For many people, it was at this point that XDB appeared on their radar, but whilst the shimmering dub techno moments were perhaps the most obvious hook in his own releases, subsequent tracks defied easy categorization – an early indication that the person behind the records took a broad view of electronic music, caring not for stylistic pigeonholes.

Kosta’s DJ sets draw upon his expansive record collection, playing right across the board of the quality side of electronic music. He has no shortage of technical skill and prefers a 3 decks setup, but despite his mixing skills it’s his selection that truly shines – putting the music itself at the forefront, letting songs breathe when they need to, and delivering plenty of head-scratching ‘what the hell is this track?’ moments.

30 years on there’s still a refreshing lack of gimmickry to his approach – keeping it low-key allows him to be judged solely on the basis of talent. His place is within a fraternity of fellow musicians and DJs who also prefer to let their music do the talking – like-minded people who recognize the purity in what they do, and are all the more respected because of it.

Born into an Italian family, Onirik has spent most of his life in Brussels, London and as of late Berlin. This wild mix of identities also translates into the multiple musical influences and directions he tries to incorporate into his musical endeavors, never following the linearity of a single genre, but rather trying to convey a vibe that spans multiple musical vessels, from abstract leftfield to EBM, via house, techno or electro.

With more than 15 years of experience as a DJ, label manager and producer, Onirik’s attention is focused on his own label Garage Hermétique, on which he has released music, as well as the collaborative project Oni-Ki; running Off The Grid, one of the most innovative underground music hubs, in the form of a boutique distribution, shop and label; and the Surface Detail project.

This season’s main effort from Flipside @ PW translates, as per the tradition now, into a DAY & NIGHT 12H LONG escape in the middle of the city at the end of June.

It is a chance to start early at 6pm and go long until late in the morning. Enjoy both the warmth of daytime and freedom of the night.

Headlining for this special occasion are Slovenia’s Mayell & Sibil.

Together they form one of the best selector duos out in the electronic music universe at this moment in time. Their exhilarating energy and contagious enthusiasm for music are simply magnetic. Just like Laurine & Cecilio last year, we’ve picked them for their powers as a duo. Their ability to draw people in, to captivate them, to control what they feel on the dance floor.

Alexis Boevik of Timișoara’s Atemporal crew also debuts @ PW.

Mayell is a resident of Club K4 in Ljubljana and owner of the label and club night LuckIsOn, established already one of the pillars of Slovenian’s blossoming underground scene. He gained the respect of the electronic music industry playing all around the world, from Resolute, New York to VBX, Amsterdam to Club der Visionaere, Berlin with some of the most respected artists as Zip, Onur Özer and Francesco Del Garda, as well as for venturing into music production with five collaboration EPs and one solo EP already released.

A true dance-music weaver, discotheque diva, the French-born, Slovenia based house-head Sibil initially found her feet within the symphonic realms of classical music and jazz, training from a very young age. It was this early musical exposure that quickly transpired into an obsession for the new and unheard, aiming at the untapped world of electronic dance music as she quickly solidified a sound she could call her own. Sibil’s unique style blends an eclectic concoction of raw and trippy vocal snips, masterfully merged with funk-driven bass lines. Often peppering her sets with a more emotive dusting of dreamy synth-work served up with a smile and a stream of infectious energy.

John Talabot occupies a fairly unique position in the current electronic landscape. A space he has carved himself by staying true to an artistic vision that is broad in its scope and specific in its convictions. His open-minded approach to making, collecting and playing music allows him to be just as comfortable on the main stage of a great festival as in a small local club, earning the following of both the occasional fan and the demanding connoisseur along the way.

Today, he keeps pushing the envelope, following instincts rather than stratagems. To do so he favors a continuous dialogue with like-minded artists. His alliance with Axel Boman in Talaboman has just birthed a new label and his Lost Scripts duo with Pional keeps delivering sparkles of brilliance, but those are just two of the several joint projects he currently has in play.
A need for discovery also defines his tireless search of music, making him one of those rare DJs that can effortlessly juxtapose efficacy, risk, and revelation. His allnighter sets are hard to forget, with notable examples in venues and festivals such as Sónar, Pickle Factory, Moog or the Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum in Glasgow. Moreover playing music, his curational endeavors keep expanding, having commissioned stages in festivals such as Primavera Sound or Nuits Sonores or bringing his Hivern Discs label’s nights to clubs around Europe.

In many ways, his work with the label epitomizes his understanding of music: rigorous and committed, but constantly dynamic and open to the unexpected. Because if John Talabot has made something clear over the last decade, is that growth always comes from the will to keep exploring.

Dave Harvey is a seasoned DJ and promoter based in Bristol, known for his eclectic sets and deep-rooted connections within the music scene. As the founder of Team Love, a Bristol-based event collective, Dave has been instrumental in shaping some of the UK’s most loved festivals and events, including Love International, Love Saves The Day, Forwards, Waterworks and more besides alongside helming the team at the now legendary Silver Hayes area at Glastonbury.

With a DJ career spanning decades, Dave has played at a wide range of clubs across the UK and Europe, many of the ones you’ve heard of and a fair few you might not have, moving through genres from house and disco to techno and breakbeat to electro.

In recent years Chez de Milo has been behind the line-ups and the decks of Bristol’s best parties. The founder of Club Blanco, he’s welcomed the most prestigious underground selectors to spaces all over the city. As the host of Magic Carpet Ride on Noods Radio, he’s provided Bristol with mid-week weirdness for over 5 years. And as producer, he’s created and remixed music for Futureboogie, Disco Halal, Duro and more.

As a DJ, Chez de Milo possesses a shamanic ability to lead dancefloors through rhythmic and cosmic portals. With a wiggy, psychedelic palette, Chez’s sets are meant to be exploring otherworldly music only.
