🎤 The Festival Jam at Improteca – The Festival 2026 is for you.

This is the official opening event of the festival — a night of spontaneous scenes, surprises, and the kind of energy that can only happen when improvisers from Romania and around the world share a stage for the very first time.

The Jam is hosted by Cindy Pittens (Netherlands) and Sophie Kneebone (Australia/Denmark) — two of the festival’s international trainers.

💡 What is an Improv Jam?

An improv jam (also called a mixer or a practice party) is an event where audience members step onto the stage. Think of it like an open mic for poets or stand-up comedians, or a practice party for salsa dancers — but for improvisation.

How does it work?

You sign up to participate via the form (link available from April 18th).
🚌 Arrive at Comanita 9 on Monday evening from 19:30.
Chat with whoever shows up — you might just make new friends. Put your name in the hat. The show starts.
🎬 The first game is announced. Names are drawn. Maybe yours comes up. You play.
🖼️ The next game is announced. Different names. You’re not drawn this time. You offer a suggestion.
— Giving suggestions is mandatory. Getting on stage is optional. —
⌛ This continues until the host runs out of games.

The Jam is for:
💃 Improvisers of all levels who want to get on stage.
Their friends.
🍻 Anyone who doesn’t know what to do on a Monday night and wants to come to Comanita for a drink.
Anyone who loves watching improv in the wild — which can be spectacularly good, or spectacularly chaotic.
