On July 3, Control gets a dose of tropical weirdness. Rolando Bruno brings cumbia, fuzz guitars and his trademark chaos, temporarily relocating a stranger corner of South America to Bucharest.

Influenced by ’60s psychedelic garage punk and Peruvian cumbia, Bruno has spent the last two decades shaping his own mutation of tropical music. In his world, cumbia collides with garage-rock energy, vintage visuals meet psychedelic oddities, and catchy melodies arrive wrapped in fuzz and some humour. B-movie soundtrack meets DIY carnival.

What started as a solo project armed with a guitar, a voice, and a pocket-sized „MIDI Orchestra” has grown into an international cult contender. From Funtastic Dracula Carnival to Lowlands Festival, from underground clubs to summer festivals, Bruno has built a reputation for turning every venue into a tropical dance paradise.

A former guitarist of Argentine garage-punk legends Los Peyotes, Bruno launched his project in 2005 and later expanded it with Grupo Arévalo. For this tour, however, he returns to the format where it all began: a solo set packed with songs from his latest album, tropical oddities, unexpected covers, and crowd favourites.

One thing is guaranteed: resistance is futile once the cumbia kicks in.
