Stray Lights Showcase: Methadone Skies//Mock Surprise (album launch) @Control

We’re back with the Straylights series in Control for the second year in a row!

Methadone Skies is an independent psychedelic rock band from Timișoara. Active since 2009, the band’s discography contains six albums, each sharing its own musical direction, most often exploring sonic territories belonging to stoner rock, post-rock, doom metal, and/or progressive rock. No limits were ever imposed, so each piece of material became the sum of different musical influences and constant sonic explorations.

Mock Surprise is an energetic alternative rock quartet, formed în 2019. Blending genres and influences, these twenty-something boys are always searching for new directions and sounds they can use to hide their pop leanings. Constantly switching between noisy agresssion and gentle restraint, they are striving to bring about a change towards the experimental and the ambitious in the Eastern-European underground rock scene. Their Concert at Control is part of the launch tour for their second album, Okapi, out everywhere on the 16th of September.
