✨Who this is for – and who is this not for!

This is an advanced program for those who have already spent real time on the journey, in the underworld. For you who have crossed thresholds. Who wandered long and deep, sat with what they found there, and came back carrying something – something you may not yet have words for, but that lives unmistakably in your body. Something that has already begun to reshape you from the inside.
It is not for those still searching for the ‘what’, still preparing to descend, still in the thick of dissolution. We say this with love. There is a time for dying. There is a time for collecting the fruits of death.

✨ The phases of the soul journey – and where we begin

Every soul journey moves through recognizable territory: there is the preparation, the slow cultivation of self before the descent. There is dissolution, the stripping away of what you thought you were. There is the soul encounter itself – that numinous, terrifying meeting with what lives at the core of you. And then there is metamorphosis and enactment – the reshaping of identity, the offering of what was found back to the living world.
Most of our programs are designed to support the earlier phases of this journey: preparing people to go in, helping them survive the dissolution, holding them through the soul encounter. That work is sacred and necessary! This program begins where many others end. We are here for metamorphosis and enactment – and we believe this is some of the most underserved, most urgently needed work of our time.

✨ What this program is actually about

This is not about learning how to talk about your gifts, or crafting a story that makes sense to others. It is about something far more primal: letting the cells of your body be genuinely reshaped by the tapestry you were given in your wandering time. Less talking about what is happening – more letting what is happening emerge through your body, your voice, your presence. Show, don’t tell.
The body and ceremony are central to this program. The stage becomes an Altar of offering. You will be invited to step into real performance, not hiding behind it, but offering through it. Your full self, unprotected, given form, witnessed on the emergent edge of becoming.

You are not coming here to be consumed by death (hopefully you have already met this kind of death). You are coming to be claimed by that which you have already encountered – to stop holding it at arm’s length and let it fully inhabit you.
This is identity-reshaping work. It is about landing in a different worldview – not understanding it intellectually, but becoming it in your body – in your bones, in your loving, in the trail you leave behind.
What emerges here is the unique contour of your mythopoetic identity finding its form through encounter, through witness, through the particular alchemy of this container and these mountains.
We have designed this program because we felt a deep call to serve those who are ready for this threshold – and because we believe the world is already waiting for the shape you are becoming.

⛰ Camping based program

In this backcountry program, we will simplify our lives to what we can carry on our backs and journey together as an intimate band into the rugged pristine wilds of Romania, beneath and upon sacred mountains, where few modern humans gather. There, voluntarily stripped of technology and unnecessary comforts, our raw relationship with the elements and wild ones will support our alchemical transformation.

🌑 Your GUIDES:

Sandra Horea (Rooted Vulture):
Rooted Vulture is in a passionate love affair with wild depths and generative deaths. She is a mythic artist – devoting herself to creating and holding spaces of transformation where images, dreams, eroticism and whisperings of Soul and Mystery can move, emerge and feed the gods and goddesses. A priestess of ancient ways wearing the garbs of a modern soul guide.
Over the past 14 years, Rooted Vulture has become well known for guiding hundreds of people from across Europe in eco-soulcentric human development practices, Soulcraft and Wild Mind, through her organisation Actions for Change, which she founded and has been coordinating for the past 11 years. Through wild and deep tended spaces, she invites soul to surface, weaving depth psychology, somatic practices, story, poetry and deep imagination into the deep art of becoming.
Her artistry is to listen for what is ready to die, so that deeper love may emerge.
Her work is rooted in her 10-years of experience training and apprentice-guiding as a Soul Initiation Guide (SAIP) for the Animas Valley Institute, a nature-based mystery school based in Colorado, under the mentorship of renowned founder Bill Plotkin and other highly experienced senior guides.

Marta Gaunt (Night Lion):
Marta has been drawn to the fecund, fruitful dark places since childhood—to mystery, myth, night, and the wild intelligence of the more-than-human world. As a soul initiation guide and mentor, she is particularly called to the territories of the underworld and to creating ceremonial space for profound transformation and soul encounter.
Marta has been studying nature-based soul work with Animas Valley Institute since 2015. She has completed the Soulcraft Apprenticeship and Initiation Program and now serves as a guide with Animas Valley Institute. She also trained in wilderness education and nature connection through Alderleaf Wilderness College and Wilderness Awareness School, working with both youth and adults.
For Marta, the body is a primary portal to soul. She brings years of somatic practice—including 5Rhythms, contact improvisation, and dance healing work—into her guiding, alongside her love of dreamwork, ceremony, art, and the imaginal realms. She sees the vulnerability and courage it takes to shed old skins and surrender to transformation as critical to participating fully in the world at this time.
Marta lives in the wilds of the American Southwest, where she is continually undone by the soft beauty of black widows breathing the desert night, the lovemaking between saguaro and bat, and the magic of toads emerging in monsoon rains.

Prior Camping or Wilderness Experience Not Required

This is a camping-based program. These 5 days are remote, off-grid, and in intimate relationship with the wild elements. This is how our collective ancestors engaged in similar ceremonies, and thus it is the closest we modern people can come to honoring their paths. While it’s understandable to feel some trepidation at this–particularly for those less experienced in the wilds–it is a most precious opportunity. There is truly no more meaningful way to be shaped and seen and witnessed, than within the womb of the wilds.
Your guides have a unique constellation of skillsets that allows for this kind of program to be possible, with years of collective experience guiding multi-day backcountry programs in some of the wildest terrains in the world. With their support, clear preparation and your own sincere willingness, we will create as safe and well-supported a container as possible.

MEALS: Simple, nourishing camp-cooked breakfasts, lunches and dinners will be provided during the 5 days of the program. Guides will plan the menus and provide the ingredients, while participants will help prepare some meals. If you require vegetarian food or have other important dietary needs please share this during registration.

LOCATION: Apuseni Mountains in Transylvania, Romania
The landscape beckons you into a quiet sanctuary of reflection, healing and renewal. Kilometres of secluded, ever-shifting terrain – deep valleys and shadowed forests – unfold in pristine, untamed beauty, home to bears, wolves, foxes, hawks, flowing streams, and more.
(Approximately 1h 30 minutes by car from Cluj-Napoca)

WHAT TO BRING: This program involves wild camping. Participants are responsible for bringing their own personal camping equipment. Guides will provide a detailed packing list after registration and support participants in preparing with the right gear for the terrain, weather, and conditions.
