Flipside invites Italian proto-house legend Francesco Farfa to return at PW for a rerun of last year’s masterful performance.

He is joined by Flipside co-creator, Twodoor and Electro Circus master of ceremonies, Jokey!

Born in Florence, Francesco Casaburi’s first appearances as a DJ took place at the start of the 1980s. Enemy of clichés and labels, he concocted a varied and delectable mix, which included both funk and the first electronic rhythms heard before the arrival of house.

His deck skills and rare knack for selection and sequencing meant he soon became one of Italy’s most famous DJ exports, with his unique skills earning him sets at some of the most prestigious night venues and festivals across the world, from Space and Amnesia in Ibiza to Love Parade in Berlin, from Tenax in Floence to the deepest underground after parties of New York City.

Farfa’s music has been called everything from psychedelic techno to cyber-trance, but it is impossible to truly define, with Farfa instead going in whatever direction his heart takes him. Hugely respected in his native country, Farfa has influenced a whole host of Italian DJs (and not only).

Francesco Farfa is now where he belongs: right at the sharp end of the underground scene. A true digger and sound obsessive, Farfa comes armed with decades of experience and musical appreciation playing challenging and unpredictable sets well beyond the realm of house, techno and electro.
