The Future of Education in Transylvania
MCC’s The Future of Education in Transylvania conference is the concluding event of our three-part international conference series, which has examined crucial aspects of life in Transylvania.
In The Future of Transylvanian Cities (2023), we focused on urban development and the potential impact that its directions and policies could have on the region’s growing population. The Future of Work in Transylvania (2024) created a platform for multidisciplinary discussions aimed at understanding and shaping the future of work in the region. The series will now culminate in the examination of the role education plays in these processes.
Across three panel discussions we will examine how educational environments, classroom culture, and student participation can shape the future of learning in Transylvania.
Panel 1 considers cultivating a culture of debate and implementing agency-based education to equip students with reflective thinking, eloquence, and to foster a sense of responsibility towards the community at large. Panel 2 investigates how spatial design and adaptive reuse of existing school buildings can foster engagement, collaboration, and creativity. Panel 3, a student voice panel, brings secondary students’ perspectives to the forefront, discussing their participation in decision-making processes at the classroom, school, and national levels, and showcasing student council initiatives to enhance engagement and influence educational policy across Transylvania’s diverse local communities.

Az oktatás jövője Erdélyben
Az oktatás jövője Erdélyben (The Future of Education in Transylvania) című konferencia az MCC háromrészes nemzetközi rendezvénysorozatának záróállomása, amely Erdély jövőjének meghatározó kérdéseit vizsgálja.
Az erdélyi városok jövője (The Future of Transylvanian Cities, 2023) a városfejlesztést érintő kérdésekre és azok társadalmi hatásaira fókuszált, míg A munka jövője Erdélyben (The Future of Work in Transylvania, 2024) multidiszciplináris párbeszédet indított a munka jövőjének megértése és alakítása érdekében. A sorozat befejező részeként most az oktatás szerepét állítjuk középpontba, hiszen ez a terület hosszú távon meghatározza közösségeink fejlődését.
A konferencia három panelbeszélgetésben vizsgálja, hogyan alakíthatják az oktatási terek, az iskolai kultúra és a diákok cselekvőképessége az oktatás jövőjét Erdélyben.
Az első panel a vitakultúra fejlesztésére és felelősségtudatra épülő cselekvőképességre fókuszál. A második panel az oktatási terek újragondolásának és a kreatív, együttműködésre ösztönző környezetek kialakításának lehetőségeit vizsgálja. A harmadik panel a diákok hangján szól: megismerhetjük a középiskolások nézőpontját, az érdekképviseleti lehetőségeiket, valamint a diáktanácsok szerepét.
A rendezvény célja, hogy közös gondolkodásra hívja az oktatási rendszer szereplőit, és olyan párbeszédet indítson, amely hozzájárul egy nyitottabb, felelősebb és jövőorientált erdélyi oktatási környezet kialakításához.

Viitorul educației în Transilvania
The Future of Education in Transylvania marchează finalul seriei de conferințe internaționale, organizate de MCC și dedicate viitorului regiunii. Ediția din 2023, The Future of Transylvanian Cities, s-a concentrat asupra dezvoltării urbane, iar The Future of Work in Transylvania (2024) a creat un cadru multidisciplinar pentru înțelegerea și modelarea viitorului muncii în regiune. Seria se încheie prin examinarea rolului pe care educația îl joacă în aceste procese.
Evenimentul reunește experți, profesori și elevi pentru a reflecta asupra modului în care spațiile educaționale, dinamica din sala de clasă și participarea activă a elevilor pot influența viitorul educației în Transilvania.
Primul panel se concentrează pe dezvoltarea culturii dezbaterii și pe formarea elevilor ca participanți activi și responsabili în comunitate. Al doilea panel analizează posibilitățile de regândire a spațiilor educaționale și de facilitare a unor medii creative, care încurajează colaborarea. Al treilea panel aduce în prim-plan vocea elevilor: vom descoperi perspectiva liceenilor, oportunitățile lor de reprezentare și rolul consiliilor elevilor.
